The goal of the scientific conference is to contribute to dissemination of knowledge and to discuss wider issues of local economic development. The need for additional efforts towards this scientific field was recognized by Faculty of Economics in the form of founding the Center for local economic development as a champion of modern theory and practice of local government affairs.
The most important contribution of this Conference is gathering prominent scientists in the wider field of local economic development, which should provide transfer of knowledge to the young scientists, but to entrepreneurs and local government representatives as well.
The conference covers a wide range of issues regarding local economic development:
• Contemporary theory of local economic development;
• Issues regarding local investment climate;
• Investments in physical (hard) infrastructure;
• Role of clusters;
• Issues of local government finance;
• Globalization and local economic development;
• Policy issues at the local government level;
